Philips introduces 75W equivalent LED light

Philips claims that the new lamp will create light that will be indistinguishable from a standard incandescent light bulb.

LED lamps are expected to revolutionize the lighting industry because of their sharply reduced power consumption and their long life compared with standard incandescents. But to date, market acceptance has been slow given the high initial cost and limited brightness. LED lamps have only been able to emit light equivalent to a 60-watt standard bulb.

On Friday, Philips will look to change that game by announcing that it will market an LED lamp later this year whose light output equals that of a 75-watt incandescent.
The bulb, the EnduraLED A21, will retail for about $40, last 25,000 hours and produce 1100 lumens of light by consuming just 17 watts of electricity. (A standard 75-watt lampfrom GE produces 1170 lumens.)
Over the life of the lamp, Massachusetts consumers will save $300 in electricity costs alone and will break even in 1.6 years.
"The trick with an A lamp is how to project 1100 lumens in 360 degrees," said Ed Crawford, general manager of lamps for Philips Lighting, North America. "It's absolutely more difficult to do 1100 lumens in an omni-directional lamp."
To accomplish that, the new lamp, available around September or October, contains 18 LED modules fixed in multiple directions. Various metal fins surrounding the lamp are used to dissipate heat.

2012 Ferruccio Lamborghini Gallardo

Ferruccio Lamborghini was a very successful business man who owned various businesses although his main line of business was building and selling tractors. Ferruccio's philosophy was to work hard in the morning and enjoy himself in the afternoon. One day while racing his Ferrari with his close friend Enzo Ferrari he told him that he didn't quite think that his car was good enough! Enzo took it the wrong way and replied "what would you know about building sports cars, you only know how to build tractors"? Ferruccio felt insulted and decided to build himself his own sports cars. At first everybody laughed at his big ideas. But in 1963 he opened his state of the art factory in Sant' Agata in Bolognese about 25km from Bologna.

Ferruccio Lamborghini's love of bulls was so strong that he would often visit Don Eduardo Miura who was the owner of a famous bull ranch in the region of Seville and who bred several species. It was this passion that led him to name several of his cars after various breeds of bull which were reared on this ranch. In 1966 at The Geneva Motor Show an early prototype car called the P400S received so much attention that it went in to production under a different name as the Miura a 4 litre car with 280 bhp which is named after a savage breed of Bull bred by Don Eduardo Miura himself, and several variations followed including the SV Concept, Roadster, SV, and the Jota A replacement for the Miura was to become the Islero 400GT and Islero 400GTS a 2+2 coupe which was built between 1968 and 1969 and was named after the bull that killed the famous matador Manolete in 1947.

The Espada which is the Spanish word for Sword appeared in 1968 at the Geneva motor show and was designed by Marcello Gandini of Bertone the famous car designer who designed several cars for Lamborghini Other cars which had names related to bull fighting were the Jalpa which made its debut at the Geneva Auto Show in 1981 and was named after a breed of bull. In 1990 Diablo was named after a famous bull fight in 1869 when the Duke of Veragua's raging bull was in an epic battle with El Chicorro.

Need some tips on how to change the engine oil on your Audi A6 Quattro? No problem. When it comes to Audi a6 parts, there are a few things you will need to handle. Follow these steps for success.

1. Make sure you have these items, a new Mann oil filter, a 6 Quarts 5w40 synthetic motor oil, and of course an oil wrench. For better air flow and drainage, warm up the car's oil by turning on the ignition.

2. Place your car on a ramp and lift it up from the ground. A jack is a useful tool for this operation.

3. Using a Philips screwdriver, remove the cover underneath the front of the car to get access to the engine oil filter.

4. Then you want to locate the oil filter as well as the oil drain plug. Remove the drain plug carefully with the use of an adjustable wrench. Be sure that you're ready with an oil bucket because hot oil will begin to ooze out.

5. Let the oil drain in a catch bucket for a few minutes.

6. Remove the oil filter with the use of the filter wrench. Be prepared because there will usually be some oil left over in the filter.

7. Before you place the new filter, the old one should be dabbed with oil on its contact surfaces. For less than two dollars, you can get a new drain plug. This is highly recommended.

8. After everything below is properly drained, replaced, and put into place tightly, it's time to open up the hood. Fill up with some fully synthetic 5w40 motor oil as was specified by Audi. It will top off at around six liters. After your car is on a flat surface, be sure to double check our oil level.

2012 New Concepts from SsangYong

BoR was paid Rs. 3000cr and it has merged with ICICI Bank. The BoR acquisition has helped ICICI, who has 2000 branches and 5200 ATMs, to strengthen its network in northern as well as western India. Thus, its branch network increased by 25%.

Mahindra's international date with SsangYong - March 2011 (Expected)

SsangYong Motor Company is the fourth largest South Korean automobile manufacturer. It has a very big history of Acquisition and Partnership. It was a part of SsangYong Group, a multibillion dollar conglomerate. The group was broken apart because of the problems during the South East Asian crisis of 1997. Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) a part of Mahindra Group based in Mumbai. It has recorded revenue of $6.93 billion with net income of US$ 623.11million.

M&M has been selected as the preferred bidder and is expected to gain a controlling stake in the company by March 2011. The planned acquisition, which has been approved by South Korea's Free Trade Commission, will cost M&M US $463million. M&M aims to utilize the technological strength of SsangYong.

Setting aside these overly ambitious claims, it's easy to see that this concept looks a lot better than the Actyon Sports. Gone are the boat-like nose and the "crying” headlights, giving way to a far better-looking front that sports an imposing honeycomb grille and modern detailed headlamps.

However, the rest of the car is not very different: the profile remains the same, with only the roof and load-area rails being new, while at the back the only obvious changes are the higher placed reshaped taillights and the slightly redesigned rear door. It looks more like a facelift than a pre-production concept study.

It is quite possible that the new supercar will be named Aventador because of its Spanish origins, for those not familiar with how Lamborghini names their cars, they use names of famous Spanish bulls for their cars and Aventador is a famous bull that is also known as the "bull of the sons of Don Celestino Cuadri Vides".
