The competition between Ford and Chevrolet has always been fierce with both large companies trying to appeal to similar markets. This lead to the introduction of the Chevrlet Corvair in 1960 that was the catalyst that forced Ford to create the Thunderbird's successor which was called the Futura and Futura Sprint. The competition lead the other manufacturer to follow Ford's example with Plymouth introducing the Valient Signet and Dodge creating the Dart GT and it wasn't long before Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Buick joined the competition.

Trim packages available for the 2006 Ford Mustang models were the V6 deluxe, V6 premium, GT deluxe, GT premium, and Cobra models. V6 deluxe models are actually very nicely equipped as a base model car. They have standard features like 17 inch wheels, bucket seats, CD players, AC, convertible or coupe bodies, and many other optional features. Premium models come with CD Changers, leather upholstery, optional 18 inch wheels, unique suspension tuning, ABS, traction control, fog lamps and a specially accented interior and exterior trim. A pony package is also available on V6 deluxe models offering most of the same luxuries as the premium package. GT models are very similar in standard and available features as V6 for deluxe and premium models. Cobra cars are made with turbocharged engines and a different body style accents and colors.

In the late 1950's Ford saw sales of its 2 seat Thunderbird decline and in 1958 introduced a new larger 4 seater version which after its introduction in 1958 was incredibly successful.

In 1964 Ford produced the first Mustang and Chevy and Pontiac would be the only manufacturers to try to offer a close competitor. The Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Thunderbird were able to gain a decent amount of market share, but never became as popular as the original pony car. By 2006 the Mustang would be the only one of these 3 cars in production, although the Camaro would come back in a few years.

Factory Headlights Or HID Upgrade For BMW 325i

One of our customers installed new HID conversion headlights (see below) on a 2006 BMW E90 325i. The headlight conversion to HID was complemented with a pair of digital decoders made for onboard computer errors. Installing with a decoder will prevent flickering from occuring.

The 2006 BMW 325i requires H7 bulbs if your car already does not have HID in it factory installed. Otherwise you could put in D2S bulbs for a HID replacement.

If you want to get HIDs for your BMW and your factory bulbs are halogen, you have a choice to upgrade to HID through a HID conversion kit. We recommend if there are flickering issues that you get the kit with the decoders. You can install these with our guide on iJDMTOY and also find a replacement H7 HID bulb / conversion kit in range of color choices.

Also for the D2S we have Garax HID or Phillips OEM HID bulbs. The OEM bulbs are standard 4300K but with aftermarket HID bulbs you can get 6000K - 12000K light output. With a higher Kelvin, the light from the xenon gets whiter and as it approaches 8000K it gets hints of blue. The higher you go, up to 12000K the light goes purplish.

If you want to stick with factory bulbs that's fine. We're just offering alternatives.

The second Porsche supercar was the 911 GT1, which was based on a heavily modified 993 platform. Like the 959, it was produced and made available to the public for homologation purposes so that it could be raced by Porsche at Le Mans. The 911 GT1 was produced from 1996-1999. It has a water cooled twin-turbo flat-six engine that produced 700 bhp. With a 2400lb curb weight, the 911 GT1 was extremely fast. It had a 0-62 time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 235 mph.

Porsche's first two supercars were produced to satisfy FIA homologation standards. This required that 200 road legal cars had to be made and sold to the public in order for the car to qualify for racing in FIA sanctioned races. The first car was the 959 which was introduced in 1986. Looking like a heavily modified 964, the 959 however was so much more. It sported a 2.8L twin-sequential-turbocharged flat-six engine that put out 444 HP. This was put to the ground with an innovative 4-wheel drive system. A first for Porsche, which worked so well, a similar system was later adapted for use on the 993 turbo, and has been a staple of Porsche's 911 turbo models ever since. In its day, the 959 was actually the fastest production car in the world, with a top speed of 200 mph and a 0-62 time of 3.7 sec. Impressive even today. The 959 continued in production through 1989.

The 993 Carrera 4 and the 993 Carrera 2 depicted the original models of Porsche 911 993 generation. Porsche wiped off the "2" from the tag name "Carrera" which was a rear-wheel drive while the all-wheel drive version is known as Carrera 4. Although both the models were of greatest extent of equality, but the latest version was embedded with a red rear indicator and also clear front that was previously colored in orange for Carrera. The M64/05(06) was the engine used in the previous version of Porsche 993 that creates 330 Nm at 5000rpm and 272bhp at 6100rpm. While the next release known as Carrera 4 used M64/21(22) engine with bigger valves capable of producing 340Nm at 5250 rpm and 285bhp at 6500rpm. Even the performance level of Carrera 4 M64/21(22) engine is high as it can execute the typical sprint from 0 to 100km/h at 5.3 seconds with a top speed rising high to 275 km/hr while Carrera recorded a top speed of 270km/h and 5.3 seconds for its standard sprint.

LED Interior Lights Upgrade On Infiniti G35

We carry a variety of lights at iJDMTOY. Recently, our customer installed LED interior lights on his car. His interior was originally stock yellow. He modified his Infiniti G35 with blue LED interior panel lights for a blue glow.

The lights he installed are actually very bright. The 6-SMD LED light bulbs have large 5050 SMD chips. Also panel lights help distribute the light better. Here are the pictures he took of his Infiniti G35.

Chrysler has unveiled its new mid-sized challenger to rival the Camry, Accord and Chevy Malibu. Named 200, this younger brother to the 300 kills off the Sebring nameplate and will go on sale as a 2011 model. Fiat now owns Chrysler, but the Sterling Heights, Michigan built 200 isn’t a reskinned Italian car.

Described as a car that appeals to “customers that want style and substance, all at a surprising value”, the 200 is based on the third-gen Sebring, which made its debut in 2007, but with heavily revised styling that makes it appear much more handsome than before.

Turbochargers and Superchargers are two names for one technique. Both of these are useful in forcing the air into the car engine with an extremely high pressure than the ordinary atmospheric pressure. The oxygen that is present in the air enables the fuel to be burned, therefore produces more power and energy. The only difference that lies between turbochargers and superchargers is how they are being powered.

Chrysler is an automobile brand by US manufacturers. It has its headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. The corporation was founded in year 1925 and now it has its operations world over. The company has a good number of products that are jointly developed and commercialized with another German company.

The superchargers or turbochargers are useful in compressing the air into the combustion chamber that will be maximizing the fuel to burn and will be allowing greater fuel consumption for a particular size of engine. Burning more and more fuel is always considered good for the economy however, the turbo chargers allow the large size automobiles to be even powered by small size motors which results in ultimate savings.

So it's not as quick as the Ford Mustang; so it's not as sleek as the Chevrolet Camaro. Who cares - it's American muscle, so what's not to love? Here's an ovation to '70s retro, and to the Dodge Challenger.

The Dodge Challenger debuted in 1970 as the twin of the renowned Plymouth Barracuda. It was the epitome of the pony car aesthetic: long hood, short rear deck, blunt-nosed grill and aggressive hood scoops. Owners could choose from an astonishing cornucopia of options, colors, trims, fobs, and nine engines, the most famous of which was the 426-hp Hemi. In its first year, 84,032 Challengers were sold. The second year, due to loss of interest in muscle cars and increased emission regulations, only 29,883 Challengers were produced. In subsequent years, the one-hit wonder faded from memory, and the apathetic 1978-1982 Japanese Dodge Challenger merely nailed the coffin shut.

When December of 2007 came around, they started talking about manufacturing the 3rd generation Challenger & Dodge Challenger Rims. It was the introduced on February 6, 2008. It was built to resemble the first generation Challenger, but with new improvements like having a longer body & including brand new 2008 Dodge Challenger Rims. All of the 2008 & SRT8s models were built with the 6.1 L hemi & a 5-Speed Automatic Transmission.. which means that I can drive it since I have no idea how to drive stick. These were so popular at the time that Dodge pre-sold 6,400 cars, fully equipped with OEM Dodge Challenger Wheels.

If you want to buy a 2010 model, just know that it will honestly cost you about $515 - $1,010 higher than the 2009 models. The original color that it was shown in (HEMI Orange) was dropped for their 2010 model year; but was then put back for the same year. There are two new options for color scheme on the 2009 & 2010 Challenger: "Plum Crazy" & "Detonator Yellow". If I were to get the "Detonator Yellow", I'd probably have the 2009 Dodge Challenger Wheels in Chrome.. just because I think that they look better. There was another new color that's called "Furious Fuchsia" & was released in the February of 2010. Which color would you choose?
