Volkswagen Polo has powerful and durable engine that delivers good acceleration. Crisp, light and short-throw gearbox, which is best to shift and it is unique in its segment. The 1.2 L petrol variant can give the mileage of 12.5 kmpl in city and 17 kmpl in highway whilst the 1.2 L diesel can give the mileage of 15.2 and 21.5 in city and highway respectively. The high line 1.6 Liter variant delivers a mileage of 10.5 liter with in the city and 15.0 highways.

Volkswagen Polo has sharp and attractive exterior. The exterior is dynamic with the stylish headlamps, with logo in the chrome front grille and body colored bumper, rear view mirrors and door handles. Apart from that, the alloy wheels make car all the more attractive. The high-end variant exterior is equipped with the front and rear fog lamps, rear spoiler and many other features.

Still under development, the rally-prepped supermini will be powered by a turbocharged, direct injection 1.6-liter TSI turbo engine and will use a four-wheel drive system. The four cylinder engine will develop around 300 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque (258 lb-ft) and will be fitted with a 33-millimeter air restrictor at high engine speeds, according to regulations. It will be paired to a sequential gearbox. The minimum dry weight of the car will be 1,200 kilograms (2,645 lbs).
