The 2.4L returns fuel economy of twenty-three miles per gallon in city driving, and twenty-nine miles per gallon on the highway. Compared to the 1.8L base engine, the 2.4L garners twenty-four more horsepower while surrendering one mile per gallon less fuel economy in both city and highway driving.

Continuing to chart the changes on the Chrysler Group's 2011MY cars, the Dodge Caliber has received some modest enhancements for the new model year, the most noteworthy being the re-tuned steering system which, according to the automaker, provides in a "more direct and precise feel".
